Orteat’s Organic Lemons
Scented, fresh, but above all delicious: our organic lemons are primarily consumed for their own juice, rich in vitamin C. Moreover, as they are unprocessed, their skin may be used to make sweet creams or liquors.
Due to the fact that they are organically produced, they may have an irregular and unconventional shape with some dark spots too: these are the evidence of nature, of seasonal patterns and of authenticity. For the cultivation of these organic lemons, our producers do not use any synthetic chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We really care about the production system of our producers, who use sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of their operations.
The difference between a natural product and an organic one is that the latter is an organically certified product. A product claimed to be “natural” can endure some treatments with synthetic chemical products, as no regulation prevents them.
Our lemons, as all our fruits, are cultivated in open fields with the use of solely natural fertilizers and benevolent farming practices that positively influence soil fertility and structure.
Generally speaking, the cultivation of these citrus fruits happens in more subtropical countries, such as India or some regions of South America, while in Italy they are mostly grown in the southern regions of Sicily, Campania and Calabria due to the all-year long temperate climate that characterizes the area.
